Hilltop Estates

Hilltop Estates was established in 1985. The papers were filed in Ocala in July of 1985 by Paul R. Gibson. The community consists of 40 acres, with frontage on County Hwy. 42, of 1155 feet.

Hilltop is located in the heart of Central Florida’s rolling hills and numerous horse farms, midway between Leesburg and Ocala. Hilltop Estates is conveniently located close to several hospitals, supermarkets, shopping areas, fishing & boating, and many golf courses.

Around 1990, Cersosimo Lumber Company, Inc. of Brattleboro, Vermont purchased the development and began to market the
remaining lots. The Board of Directors in March of 1997 voted to make Hilltop Estates a 55 and older retirement community. By December 1997 all of the lots had been sold. In January 1998 all of the common areas, buildings, and amenities were sold to The Hilltop Estates homeowners association for $1.
